ImageFirst Century Mind is a web-based ministry led by a team of contributors who are dedicated to Reformed Doctrine and Preterism. FCM was founded for the following reasons: to equip believers with the truth of God’s Word through teaching, public lectures, articles, public debates, books, and videos; Our primary objective is to bring Biblical understanding to the Saints, by showing the true intent of the Biblical writers and their words. We exist to provide a sounding platform, to continue to pass on sound doctrinal content to those crossing our path, with ears to hear; without being unduly obnoxious and out of balance. Furthermore, it is our intent to defend the Christian faith through practical apologetics and polemics, to help guard against false teaching and error by teaching sound biblical interpretation principles, and to call all men everywhere to repentance.

The assumption that every word in Holy Writ is to be interpreted in light of what it might mean to you personally is to say the least; dangerous. Any serious student of God’s word must first realize that the Bible was not written to him or her personally. Instead, it was written to specific groups of people that lived during specific times; much of the time, speaking directly to their specific circumstances. Failure, especially, in the case of the New Testament letters, to first ascertain what they meant to those people receiving them, in their own time, then determine if there is any relevance for us in ours; is dishonest exegesis.

Fcm is dedicated to recapturing the beliefs of the first century believers in Jesus. We believe the true interpretation of scripture and the true intent of the Biblical writers can only be understood correctly through the lens of a first century frame of mind, but not apart from the illumination of God's Holy Spirit. FCM seeks to explain the original intent of the Biblical writers as seen through the eyes of the people to whom their letters were written and sent.

Where Did The Bible Classes Go?

Answer: Currently we are meeting quite irregularly, while prayfully considering God's will in our fellowship coming under a more biblical model.

Pray for us in this transition. Our Statement of Faith
